The Last Men
Inspired by Nietzsche's idea of The Last Man, as opposed to the 'ubermensch' - 'the overman' - his solution to nihilism. In 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra', Nietsche despises The Last Men, who are tired of life, take no risks, seek only comfort and security and are apathetic, being individually and creatively suppressed. This is my visual interpretation of his description of these passionless creatures who, on seeing the magnificence of a star in the night sky, merely 'blink'.
