My 'Conceptual Figurative' work uses bodies and faces (human and animal) to represent 'everyman' and universal themes - intangible ideas that are made visible in my work.  Sometimes it also serves as social comment and/or a representation of personal feelings and experiences, though in an allegorical rather than anecdotal way.  Although the figures are loosely rendered, they are accurate, thanks to my regular life drawing and portrait work, and subtleties of colour, texture and light are used to 'entertain the eye', in addition to any narrative or meaning the viewer may infer.
